There’ll be a bunch of new laptops today. Let’s start with Lenovo. This company has just announced the new member of its popular ThinkPad series notebooks and fortunately, it’s not a usual boring mobile computer. According to its press release (link below), the new Thinkpad laptop incorporated Ultimaco security technology which makes it possible for users to encrypt the whole contents of the hard drive on a single swipe of their finger. Softex’s OmniPass software, which provides authentication management including fingerprint scanner and password, will be pre-installed as well.
Still from the press release, Lenovo also mentioned that several Thinkpad series have been upgraded. The T, R, X, and Z series laptops now have built-in 802.11 wireless connectivity, Windows Vista support, as well as Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor options. The company didn’t provide any detail about the price and availability of those laptops though.
